Kinky dating sites

Is There a Kinky Dating Site in South Africa?

Yes. Here is what exists, what each option is for and how to choose between them.

The short answer

Yes. Kinky Singles South Africa is a kink and BDSM dating site for South Africans, online since 2009. FetLife is a global kink community, Feeld and Kinkd are dating apps, and UBDSM and Kink SA are South African groups. Which fits depends on whether you want to meet people, find a community or both.

The options at a glance

People searching for kinky sites in South Africa usually want one of three things: someone to meet, a community to learn from, or somewhere to go out. No single place does all three, so here is what each one is for. Facts come from each service’s own pages, its app-store listing or Wikipedia, all read on 16 October 2026.

What each option is, checked 16 October 2026.

For meeting people

If you want to meet people, use a dating site

A community helps you learn. A dating site helps you meet.

Kinky Singles South Africa, Kinkd and Feeld all put introductions first. What differs is who is on them. Kinky Singles has more than 500 members across South Africa, most of them in Gauteng, the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal, so the person you match with is likely to be within reach of you. A global app can have far more members and still show you very few in your town.

On Kinky Singles you tag what you are into, including Dom, Sub, Switch, Bondage & Discipline and S&M, get daily match suggestions and message members directly. Free ID verification puts a badge on your profile, and a live video check with a moderator needs no documents at all. The features page lists everything, and our comparisons go through the other names one at a time.

If you want community, learning or a night out

FetLife describes itself as a social network rather than a dating site. According to its Wikipedia entry, members can join groups that work like forums, post blogs, photos and videos, and advertise and organise events. That makes it a good place to read, ask questions and see how other people talk about kink, and a slower place to meet people. Our FetLife comparison goes into it properly.

For something local and in person, two South African groups describe themselves on their own pages. UBDSM calls itself more than a kink club, with workshops, events and social gatherings, and a registration page. Kink SA calls itself South Africa’s kink community, for adults only, and invites people to join through Discord. Neither is a dating site, and you should read their rules before you register.

  • Meeting people: a dating site such as Kinky Singles, Kinkd or Feeld.
  • Learning: a community such as FetLife, plus our guide to what BDSM is.
  • In person: a local group, after you have read its rules and settled your own limits.

Choosing

Four questions that settle it

  1. Do you want to meet people, or to belong?

If the answer is to meet people, start with a dating site. If it is to belong first, start with a community and add a dating site when you are ready.

  2. How close do you need people to be?

If you do not want a long drive for a first coffee, a South Africa only site shows you the people who are actually near you. Our city pages show where members are.

  3. How private do you need to be?

Look at what each service shows other members. On Kinky Singles your real name and email are never shown, and only your nearest town or city appears. Read the same details for any service before you sign up.

  4. What does it cost, and how do you cancel?

Compare plans in rand rather than in dollars where you can, and find the cancellation steps before you pay. Our pricing page shows every Kinky Singles price in rand, and how each plan renews.

Using more than one is normal

Plenty of kinky people keep a profile on a dating site and a login for a community, and some add a general app for variety. Nothing stops you. Keep one rule across all of them: say the same thing about your limits everywhere, and never move a first conversation to another app before you are comfortable. Kinky Singles flags it when someone tries to move a first chat over to WhatsApp or a similar app, because that is a common scam tactic.

Before you meet anyone from any of them, tell a friend where you are going, meet somewhere public and agree a safe word. The safety page and the guide to safe words cover both.

Kinky dating site questions

Is there a kinky dating app for South Africans?

Yes. Kinky Singles South Africa runs in your phone’s browser and can be added to your home screen like an app. Feeld has iOS and Android apps and Kinkd has an iPhone app, though neither is built for South Africans in particular.

Is FetLife a dating site?

Mostly not. Wikipedia calls FetLife a social networking site for people interested in BDSM, fetishism and kink, and adds that it positions itself as a social network and not a dating site. People do meet there, through its groups and events.

Are there kink events in South Africa?

Yes. UBDSM lists workshops, events and social gatherings on its own site, and KinkDom’s site billed its first event, on 1 November 2025, as South Africa’s first full-scale kink festival. Check each organiser’s page for current dates, rules and age limits before you go.

Do I need experience to join a kinky dating site?

No. Say you are new, tag what you are curious about and ask questions before you agree to anything. Our BDSM for beginners guide explains the words and the basics first.

Is Kinky Singles legit?

It has been online since 2009, and members can use ID verification, a live video check, blocking and reporting. We answer the question in full, including how billing and renewals work, in our guide to whether Kinky Singles is legit.
