Kinky Chat South Africa: Talk Freely with Kinky Singles
Message members one to one, keep the chat on the site and see sensitive photos only when you choose to.
How it works
How does kinky chat work on Kinky Singles?
Chat on Kinky Singles starts one to one, and your membership sets how much you can send.
This is adult chat, for members aged 18 and over. You browse profiles, find someone whose tags match yours and send a message. Everyone starts on Classic, and the three levels differ like this:
- Classic: a limited number of messages a day, and you can read and reply to messages from VIP and VIP Plus members.
- VIP: unrestricted messaging, exclusive chat rooms and private group chats of up to 50 people.
- VIP Plus: everything in VIP, with priority placement for your messages and likes.
Looking for BDSM chat rooms or BDSM chat sites? This is a dating site first, so chat is one to one, and the exclusive rooms and private group chats come with VIP and VIP Plus. The pricing page shows what each level costs, and the features page lists the rest.
Your first message
An opening message that gets an answer
Mention something real from their profile, say one thing about yourself and finish on a question. That is the whole formula: it shows you read their profile, and the question gives them an easy way to reply. Three openers to borrow and change:
- “You tagged Bondage & Discipline. I am new to it and curious. What got you started?”
- “We both tagged Switch. Do you lean one way, or does it depend on the person?”
- “I am after a regular play partner, not a one-off. What are you hoping to find here?”
Keep it friendly and keep it short. Anything more detailed can wait until they have answered.
Limits
How to talk about limits in writing
Writing is a gift for negotiation. You can think before you answer, and both of you can read it again later. Raise limits in a message of their own rather than burying them in a long one, and say them plainly: “I will not do anything involving pain. Rope I might try, with the right person.”
A limit needs no justification, and the right reply to one is a thank you, not a debate. If you are unsure what to list, the checklist and negotiation guide has a yes, no, maybe list, and our guide to safe words covers the word that stops everything.
Consent applies in chat as much as in a scene. Ask before you send anything intimate, and treat silence as a no rather than an invitation to try again.
On the site
What the chat does to look after you
A warning if the chat moves. If someone tries to take the conversation to another app, such as WhatsApp, the site shows you a warning. Treat an early request as a reason to slow down: the site’s blocking and reporting cover what happens here, not on another app.
Sensitive photos stay blurred. If a photo may be sensitive, it arrives blurred with a warning, and you choose whether to look.
Blocking and reporting. Blocking is instant and reporting is easy, and you never have to justify either. The safety page lists the rest.
Staying private
What to keep to yourself at first
You can be frank about what you like and still say nothing that identifies you. Hold these back until you trust the person, which takes more than a few good messages:
- Your full name and where you work. Together they are enough for anyone to find you.
- Your address, or the street you live on.
- Your phone number, until you are sure. Sharing it takes the conversation away from the site.
- Intimate photos that show your face. Once sent, they are out of your hands.
- Money in any form, and any bank or card details.
When it goes wrong
What to do when the conversation turns pushy
Pressure is a reason to stop, not a reason to explain yourself.
Three moves, in this order:
- Say no once, plainly.
- If it carries on, block them. Blocking is instant.
- Report them, so the site knows what happened.
You do not owe anyone another reply.
Kinky chat questions
Are there BDSM chat rooms?
VIP members get exclusive chat rooms and private group chats of up to 50 people, alongside one to one messages. Classic members message one to one, with a limited number of messages a day. The pricing page lists what each membership includes.
Can I reply to messages without upgrading?
Yes. Classic members can read and reply to messages from VIP and VIP Plus members, and send a limited number of their own each day. VIP removes that limit and adds the chat rooms and private group chats.
Is it safe to move the chat to WhatsApp?
Only when you trust the person and want to. Kinky Singles shows a warning when someone tries to move the chat to an app such as WhatsApp, so treat an early request as a reason to slow down. The site’s blocking and reporting cover what happens here, not on another app.
What happens to photos I do not want to see?
You do not have to look. Sensitive photos are blurred and carry a warning, so opening one is your decision. If someone keeps sending what you did not ask for, block them, which is instant, and report them. The safety page explains the other protections.
Do I have to reply to everyone who messages me?
No. Reply when you want to, and stop whenever you like. A slow answer is not rude, and no answer is a fair one. If someone keeps pushing after that, block them. Nobody on Kinky Singles is owed a conversation.
